The Ballad of Missing

Miss, miss me, miss-ing, Miss in missing
what ever happened to see you tomorrow
What ever happened to see you at all
what ever happened that made it all distance
Miss misses mr., miss-ing, miss is me

Miss in the morning is miss morning kiss
When did it become normal to miss?
When will the miss become miss-ed you?
miss-in the evening of Miss in company.

miss-ing not miss-ed, it's still going on
miss-ed is miss-es you tend to hold on
missed it is not Miss, Miss is miss you
Miss ME misses constantly

I miss

Crónicas de un Uaraman

¿Uaraman? Guaraná, guachiman, camajan?
No busquen en el Larouse
porque nada encontrarán

Como el carriel o don Usnavy
popeye o el Osterizer
3 palabras combinadas
son este nombre que quise,
ponerle a la entretención
que hizo valer la noche,
mis ojos ejercitar
y que de oro fuera el broche

Fue un jueves como cualquiera
donde se sale cansado
y el tema de conversación
es corto y muy limitado

Sentada con mis amigas
sin ganas de hacer esfuerzos
mirando hacia el horizonte
se me ocurrió un plan maestro

de 1 a 5 sería, la gran calificación
de todo aquel individuo
que ignorando nuestra intención
pasaría al frente nuestro
y obtendría puntuación

La noche estaba lenta
no pasabamos de 1
desistimos del jueguito
concluyendo "no hay ninguno"

Depronto y sin advertencia
y en medio de hablar de nada
vi un 5 no 6 no 12!!!
en medio de una manada

Y en mi cabeza se oyó
claramente y entonada
la canción que describió
aquel hombre al que miraba

"what a man, what a man, what a man, what a mighty good man"

Uaraman! Uaraman!
y no era sólo perfil
no era efecto cachaco
ni sonrisa de marfil

Era el paquete completo
Uaraman, what a wow
como dice el piropista
papito, churro, tarrao

Depronto y sin darnos cuenta
de nuestras bocas se oyó
un "tssss" en el que coincidimos
y en hombres nos convirtió

Efecto inesperado y poco femenino

uaraman, what a wow, what a waste, what a loss

Graduation! Run for your Life

Graduation Graduation, you did it congratulations!
said my parents and my teachers and my siblings and my friends
after thinking and some planning, I would say exaggeration!
It's not fun, not even funny, your life's coming to an end.

To make myself more clear, I will kindly illustrate
how a student's life's a blanket and without it you're at stake
and a thousand doors are opening for you to take the leap
into what is what you wonder, 'cause it all looks like a pit.

Let me look for an example, or narrate for you a tale
about someone who was captive, well not someone, it's a whale
and this whale's name was keiko, but we all know it as Willy
I am making sense I promise, please don't think I'm being silly

So he swam in his aquarium and jumped and grabbed the fish
he was happy, he was pampered, his lifestyle was just delish
then he went and became famous, and the people really fought
they wrote letters and made posters so they could let Willy out

He was freed into the ocean, he didn't know what to do
he didn't know any others to tell him how to get food
he was new to so much water, he would have to swim nonstop
then he chased a ship to Sweden and he died of outside shock

So the moral of this metaphor or what I mean to say
is that we should see captivity as a good place to stay
but hey life's not that perfect, we've all got to move on
and find a job that's suitable and decent vacation

I want to see the sunlight, enjoy an afternoon
I want to wake up by myself and hang out in my room
I want a job I love, I want a boss that's me
I want gratification not just in salary

So if you're looking for a stylist, I think that's what I do
I also write for magazines and help you buy your shoes
in need of a great professional I mean someone one like me?
then you just need to mention, it, I'll sent you my CV.

I'm not desperate or anything...

Embrace Your Inner Freak! There’s Others Much Worst Out There

Everyone has an inner freak. Call it childhood trauma, psychological scar, mania or condition. Whatever, we’re all a little freaky on the inside and believe it or not that’s what makes us normal now a days. It’s true that the dirty laundry is washed at home and some people successfully get away with being perceived as perfect or better yet problem-less, but I say those people are the most screwed up. Plus having an inner freak can turn into your “party trick”, lift a boring conversation or find things in common with a new friend.

In the past few years I have come to detect, accept and embrace my inner freak to the point I have come to recognize it as a unique traits that define my messed up self, and gives me a little humour (because there’s nothing worst than being messed up and bitter.)
So yes, I love to adjust wrinkled carpets, I carefully re-stack flyers, pamphlets, brochures and any paper stack I find at banks, offices, ice cream shops etc. I have a serious sneeze trauma (no breathing for 5 seconds at least after anyone has sneezed), I collect the tickets from all the movies I go to, OH and I can’t forget my amazing party trick that is 100% effective against awkward silences, my freaky hands! One “hey my hands can fold completely” and the party is alive once more. All of that among others make up my inner freak and I kind of like it, actually from what I’ve discovered, I wouldn’t trade it for anyone’s ever.

But, why would you want keep your IF?

Lately due to life circumstances, I have come to spend a lot of time with family members I’m used to seeing but I have don’t really know and I have realized my paper staking-finger folding freak is as decent as they get.
Last month my very single aunt who parties like a rock star and travels like one too, was feeling uneasy and stressed out; She was being really uptight about the cleanness of her flat. She would clean, wipe, mop, sweep, pic up, re adjust and dusted all day long every day. And not only did she do this at her place but every ones. It was like having your own personal cleaning robot who picked up after every chocolate wrap, empty glass, and plate you set on a table 2 seconds after you were done eating. So a Friend of hers suggested that she had to learn to relax and not let stuff like a little dust ruin her days. All she had to do was get up one morning and start her day BUT not make her bed.

Yes, I know, for most of us making a bed is one of the things that make us desperately wish for the “The Jetsons” era to arrive quickly and for us to have robots and machines that make our beds, and change us into our Pj’s. Believe it or not for most people who were raised before the 60’s it’s a very important responsibility that can never EVER be left undone.

So, coming back to the crazy suggestion, my aunt actually took the risk and one random morning, she got up and went straight to breakfast, leaving her perfect bed, unmade.
10 hours later, moments away from a nervous breakdown, she went back and folded her blankets, flattened her pillows and her breathed normally. From that day on, she embraced her inner freak and the stress was gone.

So, no matter what you do, don’t fight it, deal with the fact that everyone has a strangeness about themselves and be glad that at yours is yours and your bed still makes you wish for The Jetsons.

I Hate the Nightlife, I Love to Boogie

Friday night no big deal
just a movie or a meal
or a drink or a nice bar
then go home in my small car

Then last Friday without doubt
I decided !Girls Night Out!
I like dancing, I like clothes
lets go clubbing and do both!

It seemed funny it seemed great
lets go dancing without dates.
chose the outfit, and the heels
grabbed a bite and left with thrills

Stupidly I chose to drive
from then on things were not right.

After 2 pre-party drinks
straight to the club we went .....you'd think
but the cue was 2 blocks long
is this real? I thought, !come on!

And the bouncer was so nice
the guy greeted with goodbyes
no more space in there he said
Too much effort, lets just go to bed !!

After some arguing, winks and a pleeeaaseee
we were inside oh joy oh such bliss (sarcasm)
It was crowded oh yeah it was FULL
the person who made me come here is a FOOL

So we bumped and we rubbed and we stepped our way in
and we found the right space or the smallest I've seen
Then the music kicked in and dancing began
and I lifted my feet up and down with no hands

My friends ordered drinks, but not me I was driving
we were 4 and then 3, it was time for drunk dialing
then the 3 turned to 2 'cause the 1 left with 10
and you know what I mean, in the 10 there were men

So we danced and we danced and they drank but not me,
and we sang and we sang and were stepped on our feet.
they were having a blast, from what I could tell
but not me, I stopped dancing, I was in high heel hell.

After an endless while, I decided we would go
so a search party was sent, to gather the party of 4
I limped myself out to freedom, leaving 2 friends behind
and I drove home like a zombie wondering about my mind

I like to dance yes, I like to dress up too
but girls night out and clubbing I think I've gone coo coo
I'll need some months of rest, and think of where I've been
I'll stick to meals and movies, and go dance at the gym.

PEN - Lapicero PAL - amigo
